Soul Support is 5-part a cappella men’s vocal group that broke a lot of ground for the current popularity of a cappella music. During the 1990s, Soul Support toured North America supporting their first release. Strength Beyond Your Fears was on Eloi records and was produced by Eric Medley. The tour included many of the largest Christian colleges and universities throughout the US and Canada, as well as many other venues drawing crowds over 5,000.
Soul Support combined the writing skills of brothers Wayne and Todd Boesiger who wrote many contemporary a cappella songs as well as modern arrangements of old hymn classics. Songs from Strength include: I’m On My Way, Rhythm Of Life, The Kingdom, Stay Awhile and I Waited There.
Things were going very well but the group stopped touring due to health issues. Since then, the record was turned over to Eric and Tremulant Records for continued sales and promotion.
During the stretch of the tour the group continued to write and produce music with Eric, recording several songs for the much anticipated release of their 2nd album. The record, however, lay dormant until the winter of 2011 when Eric, Todd and Wayne agreed to release some of the material in the form of an EP. Hence the release of 2EP, a small collection of songs that were very popular on tour but previously unreleased.
Both these CDs are now available for download or streaming on iTunes and other fine digital distribution sites.
Will Soul Support ever tour again??? We’ll see…
